What Country Friends Is This?
Shakespeare's shipwreck trilogy
From 8 March
Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon and The Roundhouse, London

Led by RSC Associate Director David Farr, one ensemble company of RSC actors will perform The Comedy of ErrorsTwelfth Night and The Tempest, three plays exploring love, loss and reunion.

The three plays date from the early, middle and late periods of Shakespeare’s work as he returned throughout his life to further explore these themes. While each production can be enjoyed on its own, seen together they are an epic trilogy by the world’s greatest dramatist exploring issues that are as relevant today as they were 400 years ago.

The company includes Jonathan Slinger as Malvolio and Prospero, having recently played Macbeth in the first production in the transformed Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The productions open in Stratford-upon-Avon at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from March, transfering to London’s Roundhouse in June, before returning to Stratford-upon-Avon in July.
